From Celebrating Eid’s day to Father’s Day

Today is Father’s day, and people are celebrating how their Father has contributed and added enormous value to their life. However, I grew up in Pakistan, where the reasoning was that one should not be celebrating these themed (Father day, Mother day or any other day) days, once a year’ but one should mark every day as a themed day. Over the last few years, I always think and probably generalise that why people celebrate their parent’s continuous contribution just for one day in a whole year. It should be every day or at least a lot more often.

Let’s flip the coin, Friday the 15th of June we celebrated Eid, and this is a day event where you great your family, friends, neighbours and acquaintances with love and affection. You invite them to your house offer them some food and spend time together. Usually, we do all of this on Eid day alone, not every day otherwise I think this will look a bit peculiar.

Now, if I add these dots together, I get to the point where I think having a dedicated day for the people we love and things we care about the most is extremely important in today’s busy lifestyle.

So celebrating a theme day is undoubtedly a good thing and it’s true that everyone celebrates differently regardless it’s an Eid day, Father day, Mother day or even a Valentine day. Finally, go ahead, say thank you to the person you love and felt have made some contribution to your life.

Thank you, Father, for every little or big thing you did for me.
